In the short story or concept that I put together with the future in mind for humanity, society and the world, it’s a devastating outcome. In my short story, I focused on the negative idea that the pollution of the world and global warming will catch up faster with humanity than that of which it can comprehend. In that same story, I also combined this idea that humans created a successful android or robot that outlived them to see the end of the world. Or in the story’s case, the end of Earth. The android harbored feelings through an interfacial personality embedded from the original person it copied or was supposed to replace in a sense. A clone android, it could feel happiness through the memory interface of the woman that it matched. It only knew how to feel about the world it was left in because of the memories of the person it copied and her experiences. But the idea I wanted to raise about this also is that essentially through the memories, the android would bring or have its feeling based on those experiences it could remember. Unfortunately, the memories portrayed in the story are the end of which it allows because earth in a sense is cleansing itself of what occurred because of side effects that humanity caused with pollution.
The future I described in the short story I wrote, is not something that just one person can do to solve it. The entire world must come together and think about what we are really doing to this planet with the many inventions and innovations. There are many people groups that don’t do this, however I think it is critical for all people, all societies to really concentrate on how this affects them and everyone. Solutions are not easy, they will not be fast, I believe it is important in my knowledge at least to innovate old techniques. The people before us, and I mean ancestors of these lands knew more about the connection there is than they needed to know about at the time period they grew in. We can always learn from the past, and I believe that we can innovate cultural ideas in that sense too.
I do not have a voice like some people in the world. I do not have this confidence to bring greater change to large communities. I cannot change the heart of someone or people that do not accept the change. But, I know the past of my people. I acknowledge both sides of the wheel and I understand how to carry on such vital histories. I embed these values that Hawaiians carried with them, these sayings that are passed down often throughout many generations of peoples. Me, what can Kallie do to make sure the future I pictured doesn’t come true? I can continue being me, spreading about the values I know, teaching kids the values I know and the knowledge about persevering and surviving the hardest and toughest challenges of life. I have lived and I have taught, one of the biggest things about these values is the idea to share them with the world. In the event, which I hope society gets off their high horse and ass to assist this idea, I hope that we as humans as humanity are able to realize how important it is to persevere and understand where we are in the big scheme of things. We are not the center of the universe, our problems are not. But they are our centers and with that in mind slowly we can change it and direct new ideas to it.
