What factors build our mindset? How can a change in these factors change or alter our mindset? How does the mindset we have relate to the way we perceive the world around us?
Being thrown into a splash of a culturally diverse environment calls for a specific amount of influences, impacts and changes to come. I wonder how my new environment has sparked a change in my mindset. If it changed my mindset at all, or if it challenged the normality I was used to. Questioning these things to myself, concours I ask the same question to those around me, roommates, friends, professors, supervisors, parents, siblings. I’ve essentially wondered about how I would describe the factors that build my mindset and other people’s mindsets. Since not only are we ourselves so diverse from each other but also the way we think. I find this idea interesting because observing people, the people around me everyday, their actions and reactions is a skill that is continuously evolving. The observation of other people and the certain mindset that they have for themselves is intriguing to think about. Also within the line of work that I would like to enter, if I may better understand people and their mindsets which subject to change that they can be, then I may allow myself to connect to the intended readers of my content. What factors build our mindset? It is different for every single person in the world but there is a generalized answer to this question as well.
Mindset is broken down into the factors that are; Family, Experiences, Culture, Environment, Beliefs, and Social Norms. While these are the general factors, some of the sub ideas of these factors are important to consider. Experiences, how do we allow out past experiences to affect our current experiences? It is an important question to ask in this general idea of mindset, because often if a person behaves upon a reaction they either have had that reaction to something in the past or are trying to change that reaction. Environment, while it clashes or intervenes with many of the other factors it is specific to the environments that the person being asked is in. The factor of beliefs is another factor that is connected to the other ideas. You have your personal beliefs, your morals, but what about that of your friends, your colleagues, cultural, social, etc. These factors which can be developed deeper are a very interesting thing to look at especially because not all of them apply to every person.
