Aloha Mai Kākou!

My Name

The meaning of names are very important to the two cultures I associated with the most of my ethnicity. Each of the names I was given have acute meanings to them and I find have embedded into my personality. My first name Kallie is Scottish as my mom’s dad wanted her and her siblings to have Scottish names but they didn’t so she gave me and my sisters Scottish names, mines means blessed. I have two middle names both from each of my parents. My first middle name is Peleiupu, which is samoan. I am named after one of my dad’s sisters. The name means precious words. My second middle name is Kuʻuipo, it means sweetheart or my sweetheart, although the story of why my mom chose it is that while she was pregnant with me, one of the aunty’s that worked with her, had come up to her and told her that I would be a sweetheart. Which is why she named me that. Fun fact, she had interestingly the same encounters when she was pregnant with my sisters as well. Our Hawaiian middle names also match. Both of my parents kept their last names when they got married so I have a hyphenated last name. My first last name is Kaʻaihue, in the Hawaiian language it means quick with the hands, evidently many of my ancestors that bore this as a name were very good craftsman in all departments. And then my last name Paopao in Samoan culture means two things. The first is that it means canoe as a literal meaning and the second is carrier of the order or the one that speaks for everyone.

Likes

The ocean and swimming are one of my favorite places in the world. I prefer the water that is close to home because I remember its past and with my memories I carry it in remembrance to the future. I often enjoy the connection the water gives me while I am home.

I like to spend time with my family and friends especially at the beach or up in the mountains. I enjoy just sitting back and relaxing, taking in my surroundings with my family.

Dislikes
